Stewardship 2012 É
Our thanks to members and friends of our
congregation who have made their stewardship pledge
for 2012. Thus far, we have received 284 pledges,
totaling $783,627. Pledge cards are available in the
pews. You may place these in the offering plate,
mail them to the church office or call Christine
Davis in the financial office (276-6338, ext. 16),
and make a verbal pledge by phone. Let us all be
faithful to our calling as disciples of Christ and
support the work of Christ’s Church.
Once a month, a special
Arts and Crafts class is held for all
children during the 11 a.m. Worship Hour Sunday
School and includes the Bible Bunch
children. The next class is today, February 5th
in Room 203 in the Christian Education
Building.
February is one
of two months during the year when we collect
food staples for the Community Food Pantry. Any
canned products or boxes of non-perishable, unopened
products are needed. Especially needed are peanut
butter, 2 pound bags of rice and 1 pound bags of
pinto beans. Food may be left in the Narthex during
the week or on Sunday. Your gift helps to feed
deserving, hungry people in our community.
Souper Bowl of Caring, Sunday, February 5th.
More than 140 million Americans watch the Super Bowl
each year. Imagine the impact that we would have on
hunger if each of those people just gave one dollar
to help those in need. Today, Sunday, February 5th,
the youth of our congregation will be in the
Courtyard, collecting dollars and loose change
donations for the Community Food Pantry to help
fight hunger in our local area. The Souper Bowl of
Caring is a youth-led grassroots movement of caring;
the result of thousands of young people joining
together to fight hunger and poverty in their
communities. Please help us make a difference.
Next Sunday,
February 12th, is Blanket Sunday,
sponsored by the Presbyterian Women and Church World
Service. The funds raised will make a difference in
the lives of children and families the world over.
Whether faced with an emergency or struggling to
keep food on the table, these funds will be well
received. Gifts can provide blankets and other
emergency shelter items in the wake of a disaster.
When everything a family owns has been wiped out, a
blanket is a wonderful treasure. Please look for
your Blanket Sunday envelope and consider a
donation.
The Presbyterian Women
will host an afternoon tea on Friday,
February 24th at the St. Andrews
Club on A1A. They will have a guest violinist,
Mei Luo, from the Delray String Quartet. The tea is
open to all members and friends of the church, so
ladies wear your favorite hats and join them for an
afternoon of fun, delicious food and fellowship.
Tickets are on sale in the Courtyard immediately
following the worship service. The cost is $30. For
more information, contact Miriam Kalett (276-6338).
Join us on
Wednesday, February 22nd, for the
Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. in the
Sanctuary. Nursery care will be available.
Reserve your seat for
the FAU Memory and Wellness Breakfast Seminar

Remember the Church
when Estate Planning. Our Endowment and
Remembrance Funds are two excellent opportunities
for your giving consideration, be it your will,
stocks, or as a named beneficiary of an insurance
policy. This financially wise method of stewardship
helps ensure the long-term financial stability of
the church and provides a planned means for the
church to continue its role in the lives of our
members and those to whom we reach out, in our
community and beyond. For more information on
long-term giving, call the church office (276-6338).
