At First Presbyterian Church of Delray
Beach, children and youth are an important part of the
life of our congregation. We are committed to providing
the highest quality Christian education experience
possible for our young people through creative programs
and service opportunities. We desire that our children
and youth have a fundamental knowledge of the Scriptures
so that they can develop a clear understanding of
Christianity and have a firm grasp of Reformed theology.
Most of all, we hope that our young
people will know the love of God, feel the presence of
God’s Spirit in their lives, and follow the example of
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
We hope that our broad range of
programs will provide ways in which our children and
youth can mature in their personal, religious faith.
Through activities that include mission, service,
leadership, prayer and study, we seek to nurture their
spiritual growth. We appreciate and love the children
and young people in our congregation. They are a vital
part of our church family.

Education
Hour Sunday School
Education Hour Sunday School is offered for children 4
years old through 4th grade. We always begin
our Education Hour with five minutes of children’s choir
with Mr. Poch, Associate Director of Music. We then
move on to the lesson for the week that is taught from
the Witness Curriculum. We offer this hour for parents
that are involved in Bible studies during this time as
well.
Worship Hour Sunday School
During the worship hour children 3 years old through 4th
grade attend the worship service until the Children’s
Time, after which they depart for Worship Hour Sunday
School.
Worship Hour Sunday School will host a special Arts &
Crafts Time for Preschool through fourth grade classes
as follows:

February 13; “For God so Loved the World” (Valentine’s
Day)
March 13; Kid’s Choir to sing in Church
March 13; “Holy Trinity” Lucky Shamrock
April 10; Christ Has Risen; Children to perform for Palm

Bible Bunch
Preschool and Kindergarten children are known as our
Bible Bunch. Following the Children’s Time during each
worship service, the Bible Bunch proceeds to the
Christian Education Building for their own time of
worship. Through Bible stories they learn about God and,
with age-appropriate activities, they celebrate God’s
love.
Nursery and Toddler Care
The Nursery is open for infants and toddlers during the
worship service.
Parents Morning Out
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, from 9 to 11
a.m., toddlers enjoy a special time with friends while
their mothers have free time. This program runs
concurrently with the school year and children must be
registered as space is limited. Please contact the
church office, 561-276-6338, for details.

June 6th to June 10th, children of our
congregation and others from the community will enjoy
Vacation Bible School for a week from 9 a.m. to Noon.
Learning is fun with Bible stories, games, art, music
and refreshments.
Vacation Bible School 2010 June 7 – 11, 2010
Last year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) theme was
Galactic Blast. All cadets voyaged into outer space
praising God. Through daily missions, children learned
to see space like never before, gaining a new
perspective on our planet Earth, while also learning
easy “green” tips that can be practiced at home. This
cosmic combination of faith and fun had our cadets
developing a personal relationship with God through
Jesus Christ.
Some of our Special Future Events Held Throughout the

We are always looking for volunteers to assist us with

programs please contact Jen Buce, at (561) 276-6338 ext.
